As someone who has practiced for 31 years, I am more interested in outpatient psychiatric treatment where I can follow up with the clients. I really enjoy clients who come to me wiith major issues and as we talk I can sense a leveling off of the original concerns. I am also very pleased to share with them what I call the Wisdom Teachings taht have changed many lives.

One of the increasing concerns that I have relate to mental health issues with children. More reently parents are asking for more and more medications to help their children be smarter, happier, sleep throught he night, and many other concerns that years ago parents would take the time to work on these issues wth the children. I litterally see children hitting their parents in the stomach in the  office, swearing at their mothers, and intimidating the parents, as well as feeling a sense of "you owe me" .

Since these issues have come up, I try to work with the parents to have more self-esteem, the courgage and the passion to work with their children to help them become viable citizens in the community.

I also have concerns about the rampant use of the major and minor tranquilizers which in many cases are helpful in severely mental ill clients, but not usually needed in just your average life problems, due to side effects. We are also seeing that parents do not seem to want to look at the child's diet, especially as it relates to excessive sugar and diet sodas, which increase acidity in the system and can worsen Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Studi esshow that student swho eat a good healthy brekfast do better on test thn those who do ot eat breakfast.Hot oatmeal is one of my favorite recommendations since it has a calmng effect.

I woudl like to see more family groups so that each family can take a look at how they are performing andhow others are really trying to improve the quality of the entire family's emotional, physical and  wisdom related actions.
