About Tom Cody
A long time Las Vegas resident, I began working at age 13, in bicycle sales and repairs. Minimum wage was $1.35 p.h., and I had my name on my shirt, so it was official. I graduated from vocational high school in 1976 where I learned that I didn't want auto mechanics to be my vocation. Although what I learned their proved to be invaluable. Next, I completed the advanced class in audio engineering at the Recording Institute Of America, and started my 1st business, E.A.R.S (Engineering of Audio Recording by Scottie) with Scott Spain, the instructor. I worked as 2nd engineer for about a year, before I started engineering my own sessions,at Powerhouse Recording. I worked there for a couple more years, until it's sale, recording several albums (actual acetate to vynl)hundreds of local projects, and countless jingles for TV and radio. All were done on analog 2" tape format. I bounced from studio to studio as the invent of digital home recording slowly phased most of them out. I later managed and engineered Las Vegas Recording Studio,Bringing it half way into the digital age. My next project was the complete building (carpentry & electronics) of Alien Audio. With work becoming scarce, I ended up at the stagehands union, performing such duties as: Head Sound, A/V Tech,Video & Projection, Stage Carpenter, etc. Hey, that was the 1st time that I mentioned carpentry. In between, a well equipped woodshop, & a large stake bed truck I'm trying to stay & during all these jobs I was finding various carpentry / construction jobs. I really enjoy creating and learning new things. So currently I have busy with.
