About Shahla Chehrazi-Raffle, M.D.
During my medical training it became clear to me that psychiatry was the field I was passionate about; in particular, children and adolescents. After my training at the Menninger School of Psychiatry, I took an adolescent fellowship at Stanford University and subsequently I began a private practice in San Francisco. I began my training at the San Francisco Psychoanalytic Institute from where I graduated with a degree in adult and child psychoanalysis. Soon after, I got married and we moved to Kentfield, California in Marin County. We have two wonderful sons. My older son Alex is working for the music industry and lives in LA. He is also a musician. My younger son who has a learning disability, is studying for the LSAT. In 1995 I was the recipient of a major grant for $1,200,000 from the Merriam and Peter Haas Fund, to set up a therapeutic preschool at Bayview Burnett Children's Center. This project which served high-risk children and families, was very challenging and gratifying. After five years, the City of San Francisco picked up the project, and I have been a consultant to this successful project to date. My husband and I enjoy reading, hiking, traveling and movies and theater. He is a forensic psychiatrist, and as of late, we have been collaborating on forensic cases.Location of Member
