Summary of work history:

A Photoengraver by trade (Mirror Newspapers-Brisbane), I commenced occupational construction diving in 1969 while at the same time working as a recreational dive instructor.  I opened a dive business in 1979 (Byron Bay NSW) and continued with dive instruction and marine charter whilst holding instructor certification for FAUI, PADI and NAUI and a Master 5 certificate of competency for commercial vessels.  I became an Inspection Supervisor and saturation diver for Hydrospace/Oceaneering in the Persian Gulf during 1987 to 1994.  I then consulted and operated in occupational diving – construction and inspection work - to 1996.  In 1996 I became an inspector with the WorkCover Authority of NSW and continue this role.

 

I am the chair of the ADAS Board:

·         NSW regulator of The Occupational Health & Safety Act & Regulation.

  • ADAS - Part 3 Dive trainer; Part 3 Supervisor; Part 4 Diver.
  • OHS technical expert, as part of accreditation audits team for JAS-ANZ (the government-appointed accreditation body for Australia and New Zealand).
  • 40 years practical occupational diving experience
  • 25 years recreational dive instructor - teaching for FAUI; PADI; NAUI.
