Future Career And Business Goals :

Within five to seven years  as Owner and CEO of Linde's Optical On Wheels I would like to have three or four optical apprentices trained and prepared to set before the Tennessee Bord of Dispensing Optician and become licensed Optician allowing us the opportunity to service more site in a given day. One year from stard date I would like to secure a contract with the Department of Veterans Affairs to serve the urban Veterans with their optical needs. We will also focus on becoming a household name throughout the Tennessee region, as well as providing special service to the elderly,  the handicap, the home bound, and the nursing homes community with their optical need. 

Within three to four years I want to be a Senior Executive with FDI.

                                Led to Destiny by God

                      New Autobiographical Work Shares Author’s Stories, Lessons

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – In her new book.  Lena Mae Prather shares her unique personal and spiritual experiences with readers.  Steps Ordered by God: Leading Me to Destiny (published by Authorhouse) is a collection of stories from her life, which include her memories of family in rural Arkansas to her turbulent marriages and her precious daughter.

Prather describes her childhood in rural Arkansas in the late 1950s and early 1960s, when she lived with her brothers and cousins at her grandmother’s house.  Affectionately known as “Mama”, this beautiful Christian grandmother was known for her delicious cooking.  Prather’s mother worked full-time at a nearby hotel, only visiting the house on her day off.  Her father, cursed with a hot temper, was in prison for a murder he was framed for committing.

Recounting diverse the experiences that shaped her childhood, Prather shares her memories of enormous, wonderful meals with family and an all-out fight between her father and his brother-in-law.  Her descriptions are vivid and interesting throughout, engaging readers fully in her life story.  Prather writes of the death of Mama, which her family believes was cause by the working of witchcraft.  A séance was held to discover the culprit.  Afterwards, Prather writes that she “knew then that spirits were really real and the only spirit I will ever call on again is the Spirit of God.”

As she moves into adulthood, Prather lives through devastating ordeals in three marriages.  Physical abuse was a constant throughout her short first marriage, and it was revealed later that her second husband was a bigamist.  After her third marriage, which ended because of her husband’s madness, Prather was left with only her beloved daughter, Angel, and her faith in God.

“Through my unveiling collection of vignettes that capture the life of a Christian woman, we will see that in spite of adversity…it cannot stop success,” Prather writes.  The honest I used in recapturing my story I pray will encourage you to reflect on how good God is in spite of the wrong choices we make.”

Prather was raised in rural Arkansas.  She worked as a licensed optician and eye care center, she position herself to be owner of her business in Tennessee. Steps Ordered by God: Leading Me to Destiny is her first book.
