They use "net metering", feeding back the "extra" electrical power generated on sunny days to offset the power used during nights and times of low sun. Also mounted on the shop roof are 3 arrays of 30 vacuum tubes or 90 vacuum tubes (Thermal Solar), used to make hot water. This hot water is used to supply heat to the 1500 sq.ft. shop in-floor, domestic hot water and when excess exists, it also heats th hot tub. A Cansolair Solar forced air heater heats the training centre/recroom over the shop. Plans for more solar pannels in the future will be put on the barn and sheds being built in spring.
