About George Olsen
Dr. Olsen is a third generation Missoula, MT resident. He has a BA in business from the University of Montana and his DDS from the University of Washington School of Dentistry. He has practiced in Kailua-Kona, HI and Missoula, MT. In 1997 Dr. Olsen achieved accredited member staus with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. He is one of approximately 300 dentists in the United States to have achieved this distinction. The AACD is the largest international dental organization specifically dedicated to the art and science of cosmetic dentistry. The Academy's mission is to be the leader in dentistry through exvcellence, education and integrity to benefit the health, function and beauty of all individuals. In 1998, Dr. Olsen was invited to be an examiner for the accreditation process of the AACD, a position he continues today. In 1988, Governor Marc Racicot appointed Dr. Olsen to a five yar term on the Montana State Board of Dentistry and, in 2003, Governor Judy Martz reappointed him. He was president of the Board for two years. He is a past president of his local district dental society. Dr. Olsen has served as an Examiner for the Western Regional Examining Board (WREB), administering exams at dental schools throughout the United States. He has been on the Board of Directors for WREB and a member of the WREB Dental Exam Review Committee. He feels fortunate to live in a community rich in recreational and cultural opportunities and up to date health facilities and enjoys giving back in whatever way he can. He is a member of the Rotary Club and has been active in their international Roatary student exchange programs with high school students. He has served on the Missoujla Symphony Board and proudly supports varied community projects such as Newspapers in Education, Missoula Art Museum, Missoula Children's Theater and the University of Montana Foundation and, of course, enthusiastically supports the UM "Griz." Dr. Olsen has worked extensively with daVinci Dental Studios and their Extreme Team, major supporters of the TV series "Extreme Makeover." He has been selected by Consumers' Reserch Council of America as one of "America's Top Dentists" and is listed in their Guide to America's Top Dentists. For recreation, Dr. Olsen downhill skis in the winter and enjoys boating on Flathead Lake in the summer. He lives in Missoula, MT with his wife and has a dental practice there devoted to both family and cosmetic dentistry.
