David R. Oakley is President and Managing Broker of Birmingham-based The Oakley Group, Inc. and has been highly successful in commercial real estate within the Birmingham marketplace for over five years. David has achieved recognition for his experience in the marketing, brokerage and advisory services of multi-housing communities throughout the southeastern United States. David has brokered numerous equity placement transactions to both private and institutional investors. Since the inception of The Oakley Group in January 2007, David and team have closed over $150,000,000 in transactions.
Prior to founding The Oakley Group, David served as Deal Manager and shareholder of Rock Apartment Advisors from 2003 to 2006. Before his tenure with Rock, David worked for Harbert Realty Advisors where he found his passion for the multi-family industry as a market research analyst and broker's assistant.
David is a native of Florence, Alabama and a graduate of Samford University with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. David is an active member of the Birmingham Phoenix Club and volunteers on several of its committees. He is currently a CCIM candidate and has hopes of achieving the CCIM designation by fall 2009. David enjoys golf, water sports, travel, and spending time with his wife, Leigh Anne, and two boys Holland and Larson.
