Born June 1961 in Detroit, MI.
Established online in 1998 with the release of debut artist, R&B Crooner, Chivalry, The Bembry Entertainment Group has focused on independent artists with unique sounds. Founded by David J. Bembry, a.k.a. Chivalry, he brings to mind the Motown initiative of bringing about a change in how music business is conducted. The fact is, is that he originates from Detroit, MI. and did in fact grow up there during the 60s and 70s so its no surprise that he would have a focus on originality. Singing in groups at the age of 5 and then going on to teach himself to play the drums and percussion instruments at the age of 11, at 18 he'd played the top 40 at clubs and other avenues to no end and had the overwhelming desire to commit to his own style and sound so he taught himself to play keyboards by writing his own songs. One thing has lead to another and today Mr. Bembry is well versed in music business, web and graphic design, information and internet technology and online marketing.
Being a single parent and dealing with teenagers and young adults takes its toll along with trying to deal with my Bembry Entertainment Group and of course my full-time job at LMU. I wouldn't have it any other way! There's never enough time and trying to balance everything is a trick at best. I guess it's just that I love people in general and my life affords me constant contact with heartfelt relationships with many people. Most of all my children. As a parent you're always monitoring where your children are at in life and how they can at least become stable adults with some level of security in life. In these times?!!!! It turns out that all that I can do is really keep them strong and motivated. Two of my five children are let's say; a bit off track at the moment but the thing that I give them all credit for is that they are good of heart. They are decent people. I’m very proud of them all. Believe it or not, now I have 5 grandchildren! Thank God that no one would ever look at me and believe it! “Although I struggle through this life like most, I know that even through the worst of times; I've been blessed by it all. After having lived a bit, spent 20 years in a marriage and 10 years as a single parent, I find that I haven’t changed much. I still find hope in the idea of true love.”

I would attribute what success that I have had to keeping up with trends and technology and by constantly educating myself. It's taken over a dozen years just to get where I am. Tenacity is a must in being an entreprenuer!

I would like to one day have a full staff that would allow more in house web design and marketing. I'd aslo like to do more artist development for the record label.
