Currently enrolled ina doctoral program to obtain a PhD in organizational leadership with a specilization in health management. My dissertation paper will be written to ascertain why nurse are laeving the profession. I feel that the focus should primarily be on retention rather than recruitment. We need to keep nurses to ensure optimum patient oucomes. Financially, the cost to recruit and train a new nurse could cost over $100,000.00.
During my many years of nursing, I have had the opportunity to work with Former President Bill Clinton and Former Surgeon General, Dr Jocelyn Elders, when I was a Nurse at Arkansas Chidren's Hospital.
I love what I do and if I had to start my career over again, I woulf follow the same professional track.
