My family is the most important thing in my life - my wife Shelley and I have 3 sons and 6 grandchildren. My wife has been wonderfully supportive during the demands of two concurrent careers, namely my veterinary career and my military career as a Reserve soldier. I served for 38 years in the Australian Defence Force, retiring in 2000 as a Colonel in the Royal Australian Artillery. See more details in my resume.

Total commitment to the conservation of biodiversity through the discipline of veterinary conservation biology, backed up by 44 years of experience as a large animal and wildlife veterinarian. My status in this field stems from my involvement across education, research and consulting in wildlife health and population managgement. I am prepared and able to get very directly involved in activities that are sometimes controversial, such as the culling of feral hosres and overabundant kangaroos.
