About Meredith Cummins
Meredith Cummins is a Director of Nursing and Principal Advisor with THN Pty Limited, a company that was established, by a group of doctors that Meredith has worked with since the early 1990's, after recognizing a need to provide better services to cancer patients, especially in regional areas. After doing as much, THN continues to grow to other locations.
As Director, Meredith coordinates and facilitates all aspects of cancer services including the provision and management of clinical practices as well as quality systems including policy and procedure development. One such practice is the Northern Cancer Institute (Frenchs Forest) which has been operational since 2009 and provides cancer services for the Northern Beaches community.
Prior to starting her role as Principal Advisor with THN Pty Limited, Meredith spent the past 7 years as the Director of Nursing / Quality Manager of the Riverina Cancer Care Centre and was instrumental in its initial commissioning, accreditation and ongoing management. Passionate about providing Excellence in Care for Cancer Patients, Meredith provides advisory and consultation services that assist healthcare professionals to create, develop and manage Health Care services.
Meredith has more than 25 years healthcare experience in public, private and regional settings. She started in Palliative Care in the 1980's and wanted to look after more acute cancer patients thus steering the establishment of cancer services in regional NSW and metropolitan areas.
She is currently participating in a global consultancy for Neuro-endocrine Tumors, committee and ethics committee member for the IASLC, coordinating expansion of cancer services in Sydney.
